As a Latina and a mother, I know that often times we’re given a set of ideals that are meant to shape our lives and bring us “success”. But sometimes there comes a point where, even if you follow all the rules step-by-step and achieve that “success”, the life you’re living doesn’t feel like your own. This can lead to feeling lost and trapped by depression, anxiety, low self esteem and perfectionism.
I work with BIPOC women to overcome stereotypes and the trauma associated with internal and external expectations of all kinds. My approach is based on a therapist/client partnership examining your experiences, understanding the effect they’ve had and using them to move forward and release the power you naturally embody. This includes not only talk therapy but meditation, physical movement, sound healing and other spiritual practices.
